7 years of good luck...

Did you know if you have a baby on 1-23, you have 7 years of good luck? Well at least it worked for me. Chase is 7 years old!

This year he wanted a friend party. So, we had 7 friends over for his birthday (with my 2 boys, that's 9 little boys running around!) They played a bunch of games, had some cake and did the present thing. I hope they all had fun.

Later in the day the family went swimming.
Chase is such a big part of our family. If you ask Chase to do something you know he is going to do it. He does his homework right and in lightning speed ( I think he figures he is a busy kid and doesn't have extra time to waste ).
He has his little group at school and basically they run all recess. He does this funny thing when he runs. He puts his arms up behind him and races like "sonic the hedgehog". It's really funny to watch.
He is really good brother and "watches" out for his younger brother and big sister. He always has a hug for mom and a ton of questions for dad.
So here's to our 7 years of good luck! We love you Chase!

Staples of fun...

Our dear little Chase found himself at the Dr.'s office last night. While playing with a friend he was spinning super fast (remember that is the most important part) and flung himself into the corner of their entertainment center. He told the mommy he was fine and wanted to keep playing and even continue with the plan to go to McDonalds. When he got home his head was so matted down from the blood that I couldn't even see what he had done. After getting it cleaned it was about 1" cut across the back of the head. He now has 4 really cool staples on the back of his head. Now repeat after me. Boys are really fun, Boys are really fun!

Here's to 2009...

Well it is finally over! 2009 found us crazy busy.

Here is a brief summary of our 2009.

Fred completed physic al therapy on his knee and was able to go to the March Madness tournament in St George. He also played softball in the spring/summer league. He celebrated 13 years with his company in April and turned 37 in July. He took numerous training sessions for work this year and one that gave us a opportunity to be in Washington DC over Memorial Day weekend.

Vicky turned 25 again in January and was put in as the Laurel class advisor in February. She found many challenges at work as they announced a closure at the plant in February. She made goals to make it to summer and when she passed that she made a goal to make it till the end of summer. Then when she made it that long her next goal was to make it to her work anniversary date the end of October. She made that and finished up the end of the year and as of this moment will be there for a while longer. She is involved in card club and calls it "peer pressure for old ladies". She has enjoyed watching the kids in sports and dance competitions and playing chauffeur to all these events.

Kelsey has excelled in reading and loves to read anything she can get her hands on. She loves dance and competed in 2 dance competitions earlier in the year in which the first competition her team placed 1st in their Jazz dance and 2nd in their Lyrical. She made the same dance team this summer and continued classes through the summer and added an additional tumbling class in which she loved. She is currently preparing a duo dance to compete in the spring competitions. She turned 9 in July and gave herself a party in which she forgot to let mom know she was doing. She started in the 4th grade this fall and loves the whole social aspect of school. She is a big help to mom around the house. She has decided that she would like to be a cake designer when she grows up and has folders full of her designs.

Chase is an energetic boy that loves to be rough! He is always on the go and loves Sonic the Hedgehog, anything to do with the wii and is a pro at his Nintendo DS. He turned 6 in January and considers himself to be one of the big kids. He was involved in Soccer in the spring and fall leagues. He started the 1st grade in the fall and loves school. He is a quick learner and knows the faster he gets his homework done right the faster he can play. He likes to read “his” books to his brother at bedtime. He is such a loving child and is always giving mom hugs or making sure she is okay. He loves to play with his brother but, he realizes that his brother will do anything he asks of him, so he uses that to his advantage (But not always to Sean’s advantage)

Sean has grown in leaps and bounds. He turned 3 in May and talks up a storm. He decided in August that he wanted to be potty trained and basically trained himself for the love of skittles. He loves anything his older brother loves and follows him around constantly. He has a funny sense of humor and he knows that since he is the baby he gets away with more.

To sum up the year, our calendar was always full and we enjoyed our trips to see family and loved when we were able to host family at our house. We continued the tradition of 2nd Sunday dinner with our nieces and nephews that live here in the valley. We found ourselves being more spontaneous when we found ourselves with time on our hands.

As we look to 2010 we hope for more growing opportunities and the chance to have “the building moments” in our lives.
